In the name of service journalism, staffers at WWeek conducted a blind taste test of 18 local-ish apple ciders (all originating from within an hour's drive of Portland). Anthem's "Traditionally Fermented Cider" emerged on top, with ciders from Bull Run Cider and Anthem Hops rounding out the top three. On the bottom: Bushwhacker Cider's "Dry" variety, which inspired the following tasting note: "Not even interesting enough to be well water. On the plus side, they've invented alcoholic water." [WW]
