Pix's 10th Anniversary; Events at Firehouse, Paley's, MORE

E. BURNSIDE—Pastry chef Cheryl Wakerhauser celebrates the 10th anniversary of her sweet spot Pix Patisserie this Saturday, May 18. The all-day affair starts at 2p.m. with ongoing Champagne specials, raffles, something called a "cupcake stomp," and live music and DJs starting at 5:30p.m. More information here.

NORTHEAST—NE Dekum's Firehouse restaurant teams with Ransom Wine & Spirits for a five-course dinner highlighting cocktail pairings. Dishes like a salt cod tart and clams in "botanical" broth are served up with a classic martini; the main course of grilled beef with pistachio bread salsa arrives with a cocktail featuring whiskey, dry vermouth, Angostura, and absinthe. Reservations are $70, all-inclusive, and are available by calling the restaurant at 503-954-1702.

NW/ALPHABET DISTRICT—Vitaly Paley's ongoing guest chef dinner series continues this Thursday with Woodsman Tavern chef Jason Barwikowski returning to the Paley's Place kitchen. The five-course collaborative dinner features courses by Paley, Barwikowski, and current executive chef Patrick McKee, including plates like grilled beef tongue and octopus terrine, and a ham-and-mushroom stuffed rabbit. Reservations are $125 (inclusive of wine pairings) and available here.

CENTRAL EASTSIDE INDUSTRIAL—Simpatica Dining Hall joins forces with Dundee's Torii Mor for a four-course wine-pairing dinner this Friday, May 17. Chef Jameson Maspaitella will offer up courses like cured salmon with pickled fiddleheads and a Wagyu bavette steak with creamed spinach, potatoes, and Pinot butter. Reservations are $75 and available by calling the restaurant at 503-235-1600.
