CENTRAL EASTSIDE INDUSTRIAL—Yair Maidan's forthcoming falafel cart ChickPeaDX will preview the deep-fried garbanzo balls as a pop-up at Boke Bowl. Starting at 6p.m. on June 3, Maidan will churn out falafel in three variations — in a pita, in a salad, or in a sandwich — as well as homemade sodas. The falafel fest will keep going until the food runs out. If you miss it, fear not: the cart will soon become a permanent fixture in the Home Brew Exchange cart lot at 6550 Interstate.
NORTHEAST—Alma Chocolate's new dining room and event space will serve as the venue for a four-course dinner by Biwa's chef Gabe Rosen. Deviating from his usual Japanese canon, chef Rosen will serve a menu of tiny open-faced sandwiches, chicken soup, chocolate sauerbraten and spatzle, and olive oil petits fours. Reservations for the May 30 dinner are $40 apiece and are available here.
NORTHEAST—Oysters are supposedly aphrodisiacs, so why shouldn't they give you brain power too? The placebo effect will come in handy at din din Supper Club's "Shell Game" dinner, where a ruthless game of trivia takes place in tandem with a glorious five-course shellfish dinner. The $45-apiece Shell Games will take place on both May 31 and June 1. If you want in, call 971.544.1350 or email here.
