Is the city of Portland waging a "war on restaurants"? Restaurateur Ken Gordon (of Kenny & Zuke's) writes an Oregonian editorial criticizing the timing of several new government measures — from paid sick leave to increased sewer fees — that could create "potential financial hardships" for small restaurants. Per Gordon, restaurants' already-slim margins will take a hit, forcing them to pass costs onto consumers. "If the restaurants' costs are going up, say, several percentage points because of all these issues, menu prices will reflect that." [OregonLive]
