DOWNTOWN—Kenny & Zuke's owner (and sometimes op-ed writer) Ken Gordon has announced the launch of a recurring summertime dinner series that will alternate between K&Z's downtown and Deli Bar locations. Dubbed "Summer Wednesday Nights with Ken," the dinners kick-off June 12 with barbecue, and continue with themes ranging from tapas to "healthy eating" to Italian night. The Oregonian has the full press release. [EaterWire]
PEARL DISTRICT—Seafood spot Riffle NW has lunched its summertime lunch service, offering take-out sandwiches, soups, and sides from Wednesday through Friday (though guests are welcome to dine on the restaurant's outdoor patio). Options include oyster po'boys, smoked salmon BLTs, and the spot's "Dockside" chowder. More information here. [EaterWire]
EVERYWHERE—Discovery Channel show United States of Bacon will premiere an all-Portland episode tomorrow, featuring host Todd Fisher's stops to Otto's Sausage, Lardo, and Lake Oswego's Giant Drive-In. For those interested in watching Fisher eat a Giant's "Filler Burger" (a.k.a. two patties with bacon, egg, cheese, and ham), the episode airs at 10p.m. [EaterWire]
