Prasad Opening Sister Restaurant on SE Hawthorne

The Pearl District's popular vegan cafe/juice bar Prasad (forever immortalized in this Portlandia sketch) will soon open a sister restaurant on SE Hawthorne. Harlow, a full-service gluten-free restaurant, will debut next month in the former BridgePort Ale House space, offering breakfast through dinner, a juice and smoothie bar, and a regular (read: beer and cocktail) bar. And like Prasad, the new restaurant will focus on healthy dishes and organic ingredients.

Harlow will debut in a prominent location on SE Hawthorne: the BridgePort Ale House shuttered last December after 16 years in business on the corner of Hawthorne and 36th. According to an announcement, Prasad owner Karen Pride and co-chef Brittney Galloway are currently renovating the space, with plans to open in June 2013. More information as it becomes available.
