On Friday, the James Beard Foundation announced the winners of the 2013 James Beard Foundation Book, Broadcast & Journalism Awards, and two Portland authors took home cookbook wins. Ken Forkish (of Ken's Artisan Bakery) won the baking and dessert category for Flour Water Salt Yeast, while local food writer Diane Morgan won the Vegetable Focused and Vegetarian category with Roots.
