Heart Roasters Opening Second Location in the West End

Heart Coffee Roasters is coming to the west side. National coffee blog Sprudge breaks the news that Heart founder Wille Yli-Luoma has signed a lease for a second cafe, located in the SW 12th Avenue space next door to Gruner (the spot was recently vacated by the Alder and Co. retail store). Per Sprudge, the 750-square-foot spot will feature Heart's familiar brand of micro-roasted coffee and an expanded food menu with sandwiches, salads, and other healthy options from the all-vegan Pixie Retreat, among other purveyors.

Heart Roasters's flagship location on E. Burnside opened in October 2009. Heart West End's projected opening: early August 2013.
