Seed Savers Benefit at Beast; Events at Lucky Strike, MORE

On this week's event-planning EaterWire:

NORTHEAST—Chef Naomi Pomeory will take on Monsanto with a blowout benefit on behalf of Seed Savers Exchange. On Monday, June 17, Beast will throw a five-course benefit dinner, cocktail party, and silent auction, with 100 percent of the $400-per-person reservation going directly to SSE's efforts to preserve the genetic diversity of America's food crops. Reservations available here.

SE HAWTHORNE—All summer, PDX restaurants will be invited to schwenk themselves as part of the "Schwenk Portland" tour, bringing the speciality swinging grill to a dozen spots around town. This Saturday, June 15, the grill heads to chef Rita Jia You's Lucky Strike, where she'll serve a special schwenked a la carte dish, paired with a glass of Morel Riesling by Teutonic Wine Company. The event occurs during regular dinner hours; more information here.

CENTRAL EASTSIDE INDUSTRIAL—As part of the monthly "Association" dinner series, Olympic Provisions's Nate Tilden and Colin Stafford will team up with the Sugar Cube's Kir Jensen to cook up a Father's Day-inspired barbecue dinner on June 16. The multi-course meal at Union/Pine will offer plates of charcuterie, grilled sausages, steak, and polenta — or a vegetarian option for those so inclined. As per usual, the goal of the dinner is to stimulate creative conversation, and Andrew Dickson of Wieden+Kennedy will be on-hand to get tongues wagging. Reservations are $65 and available here.
