The team behind SE food cart Fuego de Lotus has moved into colorful brick-and-mortar digs in the form of Teote Areperia, which debuted last week on SE Clay and 12th Avenue. Teote's menu of Venezuelan-inspired street food offers nine arepa varieties (essentially Venezuelan corn cakes with different stuffings) and seven entrees, ranging from grilled lamb chops, serrano-chili-marinated ribs, and a vegan-friendly bowl with beans, cabbage salad, and fried plantains. A "La Cena" menu brings family-style dining into the experience, with dinner for three starting at $25 and including choices meat, sides, and arepas.
Teote is open now. Hours of operation: 11a.m. to 11p.m., Tuesday through Sunday.
