Events On-Tap at Racion and Tabla; Vegan Taco Fest

On this week's event-planning EaterWire:

WEST END—From her eponymous wine cellar in Newburg, Oregon, Patricia Green will pay a visit to Racion for a four-course pairing dinner on July 22. Expect exquisitely plated tapas dishes from chef Anthony Cafiero and a plethora of local reds hand selected by Ms. Green. Dinner begins at 7:00 and costs $80 per person. Call 971-276-8008 for a reservation.

NORTHEAST—Pink is taking precedence at Tabla's rose tasting next Tuesday, July 23. For $35, diners can drop in between 5p.m. and 9p.m. to sample 24 of the kitchen crew's favorite Italian, French, and Spanish roses. Hors d'oeuvres will also be in abundance.

MOUNT TABOR—Nonprofit organization Vegan Iron Chef is putting together a DIY taco-fest — sans meat, cheese, and lard-filled beans — this Sunday, July 21 at Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church. Pro chefs and home cooks alike will all be supplying the meat-free taco fixin's, and it's up to you, the guest, to be the judge of which is best. $12 at the door gets you access to a virtually unlimited vegan taco tasting. Tix are quite limited, so get there a bit before 2:30.
