A recent rant by Pok Pok's Andy Ricker has elicited a debate over free rice over at OregonLive. Ricker's original comment, which took an online reviewer to task for expecting free rice at an "Asian restaurant," pointed out the economics of "free" at restaurants that serve complimentary rice or bread (Ricker's take: "You are paying for it one way or another, either by paying more for everything else on the ticket, or getting served low quality, commodity groceries"). So far, 405 people have voted in the O's online "free rice" poll. [OregonLive] [Photo: Flickr]
