On this week's event-planning EaterWire:
BUCKMAN—Things are going to get rococo at Nostrana's "Big Pink" breast cancer fundraiser on August 5, where delicate seafood and fine rosé will be accompanied by live singing: raunchy, Renaissance-era French songs, to be exact. At $250 a head, it's not exactly a steal, but all proceeds will go directly to the OHSU breast cancer research lab — not a nonprofit middleman in sight.
SE BELMONT—Accanto's bar manager Robert Fuller is collaborating with Patrick Bernards of Bull Run Spirits for a cocktail tasting this Sunday, August 4. A series of four craft cocktails (featuring four different spirits) begins flowing at 9p.m. A $23 ticket (which can be purchased in advance at 503-235-4900) enters drinkers into a raffle, whose possible prizes include a tasting and tour at Bull Run Distillery, a Genoa Dinner for two, or an Accanto gift certificate.
NW/ALPHABET DISTRICT—Marinated beef short ribs, chicken bratwurst, grilled corn, jalapeno and chimichurri will occupy the dinner tables at Wildwood this Thursday, August 1. This Schwenk menu is just $20 (with an additional $10-15 for wine pairings) and will be available from 5:30-10p.m. in outdoor tents. It would be wise to make a reservation in advance here.
