Coava Coffee Opening SE Hawthorne Location

Coava Coffee Roasters is heading (farther) east. Coffee blog Sprudge breaks the news that Matt Higgins' speciality roaster is opening its second location at SE Hawthorne and SE 27th, in a still-under-construction building across the street from Holman's Funeral Service.

There's no projected timeline yet for the second Coava coffee bar, but Portland's coffee scene is experiencing a boon of sorts. Last week, Barista announced plans to open its fourth location (on NW 23rd Avenue); construction is currently underway for Heart Roasters' second location, on SW 12th. Ristretto Roasters' relocated cafe on NE Couch, meanwhile, should be opening soon.
