Chef Jason Barwikowski, who in 2011 spearheaded the menu at Duane Sorenson's first foray into restaurants, has left the kitchen at the Woodsman Tavern. Barwikowski confirms the departure, saying "it has been a very amiable break up" inspired by a need to take time off to spend with family.
Barwikowski, an alum of Olympic Provisions and Clyde Common, had collected several accolades during his time in the Woodsman kitchen. In 2011, Woodsman landed on GQ's "10 Best New Restaurants in America" list; the following year, the Oregonian named it its "Rising Star of the Year." No word yet on a replacement; more as it becomes available.
