Chef Eric Bechard is uprooting his gamey restaurant Kingdom of Roosevelt. Bechard told the Oregonian last night that he has "bought a commercial building and plans to move his six-month-old restaurant" to the as-yet-undisclosed location. Roosevelt's current location on SE César Chávez Boulevard will be taken over by Roosevelt employee Gina Helvie, who plans to open a "neighborhood brunch restaurant" called Trinket.
When reached by WWeek, Bechard would not comment further on the new location, but said that Trinket promises to be "more accessible than what's happening now — something cool for people in the neighborhood." (WW notes that despite mostly positive reviews, recent visits "have found the restaurant half-empty even on a weekend night.") Updates as they become available.
