PEARL DISTRICT—The event's still one month away, but supporters of Share Our Strength's "No Kid Hungry" initiative should save the date for the annual Portland-area dinner, scheduled for September 30 at Irving Street Kitchen. As usual, chef Sarah Schafer has gathered an all-star guest chef lineup, including Richard Reddington (of Yountville, California's Redd & Redd Wood), Cathy Whims (Nostrana), and Alissa Rozos (St. Jack) to cook up a multi-course dinner and cocktail hour. Actress Rita Wilson will perform post-reception. Reservations start at $250, with all proceeds benefiting Share Our Strength. More information and tickets here. [EaterWire]
PEARL DISTRICT—Soup-and-grilled-sandwich spot Supa! is now officially open in the Pearl District space once home to Madera. The official website reveals a menu of suggested soup-and-sandwich pairings, featuring "Melties!" like Swiss cheese, grilled asparagus, caramelized onion, and pesto aioli (paired with a chicken and ravioli soup).
