NW 23RD/ALPHABET DISTRICT—Newish NW 23rd spot the Fireside will set up a miniature block party on Sunday, August 11 — with tables spilling out onto the adjacent NW Johnson Street. Chef Henry Kibit will offer an a la carte menu of grilled corn on the cob, sliders, and a full-on crawfish boil; special punches will be available for $5 per pour. More information here.
OLD TOWN—Joto Sake pays a visit to Davis Street Tavern in a dinner that pairs the Japanese spirit with American food. The dinner, scheduled for Thursday, August 8, will feature five Joto sakes. Reservations are $50 and available by emailing here.
NW 23RD/ALPHABET DISTRICT—The Bent Brick celebrates its newfound ability to sell wine by the growler with a "Growler Party" on Thursday, August 8. The event will feature pours from 10 wineries, including Boedecker Cellars, Love and Squalor, Guild Winemakers, in addition to snacks prepped in the Bent Brick kitchen. The $20 entrance gets guest all food and drink, plus the opportunity to purchase a growler of their favorite sip of the evening. More information here.
CENTRAL EASTSIDE—Eight vineyards will pour their takes on Pinot Blanc side-by-side at a "Pinot Blank Smackdown!" at ENSO Winery on Thursday, August 8. All tastings will be free, and oysters will be available for purchase for a perfect paring. More information here.
