Andy Ricker's line-inducing SE Division restaurant Pok Pok famously recreates the flavors Ricker finds in Northern Thailand's food stalls, and the decorated chef celebrates those spots in this new cookbook, Pok Pok: Food and Stories from the Streets, Homes, and Roadside Restaurants of Thailand. In his words, the book "dispens[es] with the myths that keep people from making Thai food at home in the first place but also recogniz[es] the effort it entails."
Pok Pok, which is full of essays about Ricker's pals in Thailand, dedicates an entire chapter to rice, offers recommended dishes to try with each recipe, and yes, reveals the recipe for Pok Pok's iconic Vietnamese fish sauce wings.
