SE Hawthorne's taco spot Dingo's called it quits earlier this summer after a 13-year run; now, word on what will take over the space. According to a press release, the 50-seat Fado Portuguese Kitchen & Bar will debut later this month, offering petiscos and entrees that combine "classic Portuguese recipes" with "some Oregon updates" (think local, sustainable, seasonal).
Owner Nick Ross writes that many Fado dishes "come from handwritten notes my grandmother used while she cooked, some dating back to the 1930s." The wine list will be dedicated exclusively to Portuguese wines, while cocktails, like the food menu, will offer "interpretations of classic Portuguese concoctions." Projected opening: late September. More information as it becomes available.
