Perry's on Fremont Shutters; Moda Center Menu Update

NE FREMONT— After a staggering 41 years in business, neighborhood spot Perry's on Fremont has closed for good. The Oregonian was the first to report the shutter, and on their official Facebook page, owners Bill and Anna Perry offer the following words of farewell: "We were just a couple of crazy kids with a big dream and we want to thank each and every one of you, and most especially our staff, for being in our lives and helping us stay in business for 41 years on NE Fremont. (12@ NE 43rd and 29 @ 24th) You have given us some wonderful, funny, charming, loving and sometimes perplexing memories and you will never be forgotten." [OregonLive, FB]

NORTHEAST— In an interview with KGW, Fire on the Mountain reveals the working menu for its upcoming location inside the Moda Center: Owner Jordan Busch says to expect wings (obviously), as well as other FOTM favorites like "fresh-cut fries, deep fried pickles, chips and queso." [KGW]

EVERYWHEREOver on the mothership, chefs and managers at some of the country's top restaurants weigh in on the ongoing tipping debate. Says NYC's Jim Meehan (PDT): "It always surprises me what critics feel entitled to discuss." [-EN-]
