DOWNTOWN—Two of the founding minds behind downtown deli Kenny & Zuke's will celebrate the launch of their new cookbook, The Artisan Jewish Deli at Home, during a public book launch at the Portland Penny Diner Monday, September 9. Co-authors Michael Zusman (a food critic-about town) and Nick Zukin (of guisados spot Mi Mero Mole) will sign books (available for purchase on-site), while co-host Vitaly Paley cooks up the duo's recipes. DIVISION/CLINTON—The self-proclaimed "Culture Club" of Cheese Bar, Little T American Baker, and Commons Brewery will join forces for a happy-hour tasting event on Saturday, September 7, featuring a pairing of five fermented breads, beers, and cheeses. NORTH PORTLAND—Popular bottleshop/beer bar the Hop & Vine will celebrate its fifth anniversary this Thursday, September 5, with $5 specials on beer, burgers, and cocktails.
