PEARL DISTRICT— Tickets are still available for this Wednesday's installment of the Portland Food Adventures dinner series, which features chef Sarah Schafer and Irving Street Kitchen. In usual PFA form, Schafer will cook up a six-course meal (with beverage pairings) at ISK, then send home diners with gift certificates to some of her favorite places: Pip's Original, Racion, Szechuan Chef, and the upcoming Thai spot Laangbaan. A portion of proceeds benefits the Oregon Dog Rescue; more information and tickets here. [EaterWire]
NORTHEAST— In another of its free doughnut giveaways, mini doughnut shop Pip's Original will offer totally free doughnut "sample packs" during a one-hour giveaway tomorrow, January 14, from noon to 1p.m. During the giveaway, guests get two doughnuts of each flavor, each topped with Pip's new winter toppings: Meyer lemon, and vanilla pear butter. More information here. [EaterWire]
DENVER— Something called "Voodoo Madness" has taken over Denver, so to document the Voodoo Doughnuts frenzy at its newish Mile High location, Eater Denver captured a scene of the 40-minute line. (And yes, Voodoo Denver has already hosted its first in-store wedding ceremony.) [Eater Denver]
