And now, take a quick look inside Nonna, restaurateur Dayna McErlean's newest spot on an ever-growing Concordia corner. Nonna, the more-casual sister spot to the acclaimed Italian restaurant DOC, mirrors many of DOC's charms (like a white-tiled facade and intimate feel) but embraces a "tavern" atmosphere, with a horseshoe-shaped bar, high-top seating, and benches replacing the white tablecloths.
But Nonna's DOC roots are most evident with the familiar face in its kitchen: DOC chef Jobie Bailey, who offers an a la carte menu of vegetable-focused small plates, pastas (linguini served with a choice of four accompaniments), and snacks meant to pair with wine or cocktails. (Larger plates include options like mussels with gremolata and white wine; grilled trout and salmoriglio; and smoked brisket with lentils and creamed horseradish.) Nonna is open now. Hours of operation: Tuesday through Saturday, 5 to 11p.m.
