Tea Chai Té Closes its Hawthorne Cafe

The tea shop's third location has closed as owners search for a bigger location.

Tea Chai Té, the mini chain of cozy tea shops, has closed its Hawthorne location. Owners Dominic and Angela Valdes say the original location on NW 23rd Avenue will remain open, as will the historic red caboose in Sellwood. "We simply outgrew the Hawthorne space and are currently looking for a larger location to reopen in," says Dominic.

Tea Chai Té opened its first location in 2003, and specializes in blending its own organic and fair trade teas -- even the bubble teas are made from scratch. Their teas are also available for sale in some stores and on their website. If you have a tip on a promising location, drop them a line on Facebook.
