Dessert Pop-up Morgan St. Theater Wants You to Eat Ice Cream For Dinner

Upcoming event pairs Italian wines with Italian-inspired desserts, plus live opera.

Morgan St. Theater

Being a grown-up is hard, but at least there are a few benefits. Like, we could totally dessert for dinner if we feel like it. So there!

Another entrant in Portland's ever-expanding pop-up scene is giving us every excuse to indulge this perennial childhood fantasy. On Thursday Oct. 23 from 7:30-9:30 p.m., Morgan St. Theater pop-up dessert club is collaborating with Pairings Portland Wine Shop in Northeast Portland for a multi-course "dinner" of desserts themed "A Night at the Opera."  The menu will include:

  • Acero e Polenta: Maple ice cream, brown butter polenta cake, poached pear and pine nuts
  • Zucca Squish: Acorn squash sorbet, hazelnut, blue cheese, sage oil
  • Tiramisu: Mascarpone ice cream, nocino, ladyfingers, cacao nib

A flight of Italian wines will accompany the meal, and local singer Amanda Taddeo will sing live opera.

Cost is $35, which includes wine and live music (gratuity not included). To reserve a seat, email info@morgansttheater.com.
