Pips and Bounce, Portland's brand-new, full-bar-equipped, snack-slinging ping pong palace, opened its doors on Saturday, so you can bring your sweet table tennis moves out of your basement and into full public glory.
But even if your paddle skills leave something to be desired, there are plenty of staffers on hand to fetch your stray bouncers with their nifty lacrosse-stick-like scooping tools, and there are buckets of balls at each table (and drink holders!), so play never has to pause.
When you're ready to take a snack break, there's a full bar and kitchen, so you can fuel up on beer, cocktails and flatbread sandwiches.
Pips and Bounce: 833 SE Belmont St., Portland, 503-928-4664
Hours: Monday-Thursday 11 a.m. - 10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.; Sunday 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.
