News this morning will have Karaoke fans singing the blues.
Willamette Week reports that Chopsticks II (aka Chopsticks Express) will close next summer after 20 years at its East Burnside location near NE 28th Avenue's restaurant row.
The lease on the popular, raucous, and dive-y bar/restaurant/karaoke club expires in August 2015, and the landlord has decided not to let bar owner David Chow to renew it.
Lisa Lucas, president of the property management company Jema Bitar, says Chow has been a good tenant, but they could make more money with a different business on the property.
Chow is apparently on the hunt for a new location. Meanwhile, get your fill of Chopsticks II while you can. And there's still Chopsticks III on Northeast Columbia Boulevard.
