PREAM Pizza Duo Partnering with Chefstable to Open Pizzeria in SE Portland

The Ned Ludd cook and bartender who created the popular Monday night pizza event are getting a space of their own.

A couple weeks ago, Eater reported that Tennessee Red's had closed and Chefstable had already taken over the spot for an undisclosed new venture. New details have now emerged and it looks like Portland is getting more wood-fired pizza.

The Oregonian reports that the PREAM team of Ned Ludd chef Nick Ford and bartender/manager Brandon Gomez are taking their popular hip-hop Monday night pizza party to the Southeast Portland space, where PREAM can stretch out all week long — and really crank up the music.

The duo tells Michael Russell that the goal is to capture the scruffy-genius spirit of places like Roberta's in Brooklyn — rough around the edges but committed to culinary excellence. So expect a dive-y atmosphere,. Update: Gomez tells Eater "We are trying to create an urban, high-energy, neighborhood spot." You can expect loud music, a bigger bar, and a custom-built wood-fired oven made by Gianni Acunto of Naples. They'll slowly add more pizzas as well as pasta to the menu once they've got their feet under them.

PREAM (opening in early 2015), 2131 S.E. 11th Ave.
