Beaverton's two-year-old Thai Bloom restaurant has expanded to Portland, opening a second location on NW 23rd Avenue.
It's something of a homecoming for head chef Nunda "Noot" Sybim, who will be just one block away from her old (now-shuttered) Typhoon! stomping grounds, where she was the head chef until 2011.
The restaurant specializes in artfully garnished classic Thai dishes. But most intriguing is the all-day happy hour on Sundays, with a long list of 22 dishes hovering around $4 to $5. Think miang kham ($3.99), tom kha soup ($2.99) and larb salad ($3.99).
