Portland's Powerhouse Women of Food and Drink Come Together for Epic Feast

Fundraiser for Ovarian Cancer Alliance brings top female talents together.

Leave it to Portland to turn a questionable French tradition into something meaningful.

In France, St. Catherine's Day is when single women would don their best hats and parade to the local St. Catherine statue to pray for a husband and let everyone know they were available. (Really?!) But Portland's female leaders in the food and beverage industry are hosting a parade of their own, to bring awareness and raise funds for ovarian cancer — and the destination is an epic feast at Cooper's Hall and Union/Pine.

This Sunday, Nov. 23, the party begins at 2 p.m. with cocktails at the Jupiter Hotel. At 3:30 p.m. attendees take a short march to each venue, where top female chefs, winemakers, bartenders will be offering food and beverage pairings accompanied by live music. The list includes Lucy Brennan of Mint/820, Anne Hubatch of Helioterra Wines, Jenn Louis of Lincoln, Janis Martin of Tanuki, Bonnie Morales of Kachka, Johanna Ware of Smallwares, Cathy Whims of Nostrana,

The event is a 21 and over, and men are welcome. Cost is $75, including a gift bag. Proceeds benefit the Ovarian Cancer Alliance of Oregon and SW Washington. Get tickets here.
