The identity of the fourth food cart at Portland International Airport has been revealed. Love & Whiskey, a gourmet burger and taco cart Downtown at SW 5th and Oak, has joined Pok Pok Wing and Koi Fusion in the pre-security area, bringing a taste of the city's unparalleled cart scene to eaters on the fly.
Love & Whisky's burgers are ground in-house from sirloin and pork belly, and are topped with a collection of fancy condiments. Its signature, "The Bourbon," piles on Bulleit Bourbon and bacon jam, a compound butter made with Rogue's Smokey Blue cheese, and crispy "straws" of fried carrots and shallots.
And Eater just learned that the Pok Pok Wing cart is expanding its menu. Joining the famous wings and three kinds of Chinese buns called mantou, will be a slurpy Thai noodle dish called Khanom Jiin Naam Yaa -- similar to a frequent special at Pok Pok Noi. It's made of rice vermicelli noodles swimming in Southern Thai coconut curry with pickled mustard greens, mung beans, garlic-chile oil, and catfish. There will be a vegetable version as well.
There's a fourth cart in position. But no word yet what will be going in.
And just to make you hungry, here's a picture of the mantou at Pok Pok Wing:
