The food and drink options near Providence Park keep getting better. The Civic Taproom recently opened its doors, offering 22 taps for your imbibing pleasure.

Named for one of the stadium's early monikers, the taproom and bottle shop has a rotating selection craft beer, wine, and cider on tap that you can drink at the bar or pub tables, or take home by the growler. Five flat-screen TVs mean you'll never miss a game. There's no food, but you can bring in eats from one of the neighboring restaurants, like Boise Fry Co., Uno Mas, and Hot Lips Pizza.

The shop also has walls of glass-fronted coolers housing hundreds of bottles. The New School reports that the owners plan to stock around 400 different beers, ciders and wines, including up to 50 ciders, 30 white wines and 30 red wines, all with a focus on local producers. In January, they plan to begin hosting meet-the-brewer nights every Thursday.

The Grand Opening celebration is scheduled for Saturday, December 20. Expect free samples and all-day happy hour ($1 all drafts).

Civic Taproom & Bottleshop is open 12 p.m. to 12 a.m. daily.
