The Skyline Tavern, one of Portland's favorite dive bars, is up for sale. And that can only mean one of two things:
1) Another icon of the city's pre-Portlandia past is about to bite the dust and get a condo development in its place.
or
2) There will be a bidding war among New York hipsters longing to fulfill their dreams of owning the perfect Portland dive.
Let's hope it's the latter, because even a hipster bar filled with skinny jeans and lumberjack beards is better than no bar at all. And The Skyline Tavern is a gem. It not only boasts an Old West facade, the interior is completely wood paneled like a cabin from top to bottom. Inside there are pool tables, video poker and the kind of chairs you only find at a VFW Lodge.

Outside there's a sweeping view beyond the towering evergreens, picnic tables, horseshoes, ping pong and a barbecue where it's always been tradition to BYO meat for the DIY grill.
As if that's not enough, the bar even comes with its own cabin/house on the 2-acre lot.
The list price is $795,000. You can check out the full listing and gallery here.
