Hoda's Middle Eastern Cuisine on NE Fremont Has Served its Last Mezze Platter

On the heels of exciting restaurant news from the Beaumont area, with new ownership energizing The Alameda Cafe, Fire and Stone wood-fired restaurant opening any day now, and that late-night cocktail den/pancakery opening in early 2015, we get news of a shutter.

Earlier this month, Hoda's Middle Eastern Cuisine on NE Fremont closed its doors for good. The second location of the flagship on SE Belmont opened in early 2011, but it was never as popular as the original. An unidentified staffer at the Belmont restaurant says the Northeast location just wasn't a good fit. With the more-established Nicholas Restaurant (formerly Arabian Breeze) just down the hill on NE Broadway, perhaps it was a problem of too much hummus per capita.

Hoda's SE Belmont location and event catering is still going strong. Watch this space for news of who takes over the spot.
