It seems nobody is open Christmas Day, except maybe Plaid Pantry. But Barista wants to be there for all the coffee lovers who crave a properly pulled shot. The Portland cafes are open from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Christmas Day with special holiday menus.
The Nob Hill and Alberta stores are putting their liquor licenses into full effect. Get a hot toddy with Commissary's toddy syrup and sherry; a black velvet with Commissary's raspberry syrup, Guinness, espresso and cava; or go simple with Guinness and a shot.
On the non-spirited menu offered at all locations, choose from espresso spiked with black walnut bitters and topped with whipped cream and nutmeg; a blonde mocha or hot chocolate made with Valrhona white chocolate and sprinkled with nutmeg. And you can top any drink with a toasted peppermint marshmallow.
