Go British-style traditional or opt for Spanish flair.

Pix Patisserie/Bar Vivant: When Cheryl Wakerhauser does holiday tea, you can bet it will be over-the-top. And since it's at her tapas house Bar Vivant, you can bet it'll have Spanish flair, too. True to form, this year's tea features 15 treats, including holiday-flavored French macarons, soft-boiled quail eggs wrapped in prosciutto, rotating flavors of decadent chocolate chaud, and a pot of Townshend's Tea. This formal tea service is offered December 15 through December 23, and December 26 through New Years Day, at 2 p.m., 3 p.m., and 4 p.m. Cost is $30. Reservations required. Call (971) 271-7166.

The Heathman's Holiday Tea: The stately Downtown hotel has been serving traditional British-style high tea for years. And this time of year the tea service gets an extra-festive touch thanks to holiday decorations and a seasonally inspired menu of finger sandwiches, savories, and pastries. Kids can partake of the Peter Rabbit Tea ($14), which offers "Ants on a Log," snickerdoodles, German chocolate cupcakes, and peanut butter and honey sandwiches. The holiday tea ($32) is offered until January 4. Seatings are at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. Reservations are required. Call (503) 790-7752.
