And now, a look inside SE Division's brand-spanking-new location of Bollywood Theater, the acclaimed Indian street food restaurant by chef Troy MacLarty. After shooting past its original fall 2013 opening date, the hotly anticipated location debuted last week with several crossovers from its NE Alberta restaurant: framed photographs and Bollywood posters on one wall; mis-matched dining room chairs; and lots of lush details like embroidered pillows and hanging lanterns.
The main difference is in scale. Bollywood SE boasts 4,000 square feet, which translates into a much larger dining room, an eight-seat counter/bar space, and a central open kitchen where MacLarty cooks up his kati rolls, thalis, and vada pavs. As promised, there's also a retail pantry space that currently sells dry goods like crushed chilis and rice, and a sprawling outdoor patio will seat an additional 50 guests come summertime.
