Widmer's Remodel; Anniversaries for Fireside, Either/Or

NORTHEAST— The famed brewpub attached to Widmer Brothers Brewing will temporarily shutter for a few days this month to undergo remodels. According to a press release, the Widmer Gasthaus revamp promises more natural light, a new community table, and booths swapped for table-top seating. Construction will also add nine more taps to the Widmer bar. The brewpub will remain open during most of the renovation, but will close its doors on March 17 and March 24 to 27. [EaterWire]

NW 23RD/ALPHABET DISTRICT The Fireside celebrates its first anniversary on Sunday, March 23 with a party from 1-5p.m. Chef Henry Kibit will offer fresh oysters, shrimp cocktail, and other treats on a special "small plates" menu, and drink specials will be available all evening. Co-owner Sue Erickson also promises "celebratory 'thank yous' in food and drink form throughout the day." More information here. [EaterWire]
