The Honey Pot's Mary Sheridan Launches New Project

Just three months after opening a brick-and-mortar space, the Honey Pot Bakery abruptly shuttered in 2013, closing both the bakery and its food cart location on SE Hawthorne Boulevard. Now, former owner Mary Sheridan has launched an IndieGoGo campaign to start a new dessert project, and the video accompanying the fundraiser hints at the strife behind the Honey Pot brand: "the financial support and business expertise promised by her investor did not materialize as Mary had hoped... the final result is that she no longer owns the rights to either the name nor the product she developed for the Honey Pot LLC."

Sheridan's new project, a hot porridge cart dubbed Mamma Mary's Porridge Buffet, seeks to buy back the airstream trailer that originally housed the Honey Pot. According to the campaign titled "I want my cart back!," Sheridan plans to serve whole grain porridges (with a buffet of toppings) at an as-yet-undisclosed downtown location. She's currently seeking $15,000 to help purchase the cart off eBay.
