The long-stewing bar by Oven & Shaker's Ryan Magarian and ChefStable's Kurt Huffman finally has a name and opening date: Easy Company will softly open next week in the former Ping space. According to the Oregonian, the concept emphasizes the "fun" aspect of craft cocktails, offering a 16-item cocktail menu and the same number of beers on tap. As planned, the adjacent space is already in use by Team Lardo as a commissary kitchen space.
Ping restaurant closed its doors in January 2013, with original plans for an expansion (into Easy Company's current space) and complete menu overhaul. When those ideas were delayed "indefinitely" by that May, Huffman switched gears, confirming Ping's permanent closure by fall of that year. Magarian's bar project has been in the works since then. Per the O, preview events start next week, with the official opening slated for early April.
