With the recent flurry of hybrid restaurant/market openings — P's and Q's, Old Salt Marketplace, and Oso Market & Bar among them — the Oregonian investigates how restaurants are "paving the way" for neighborhood marketplaces. In some cases (like at P's and Q's), the in-house market provides an oasis in a food desert; in others, like at Bollywood Theater and Shut Up & Eat, stocking deli cases and pantry shelves helps diners locate otherwise hard-to-find ingredients.
