Nong's Khao Man Gai Opening Legit Brick-and-Mortar

Nong Poonsukwattana will once again grow her burgeoning Hainan chicken-and-rice empire: Eat Beat's Ben Tepler reports Poonsukwattana will expand Nong's Khao Man Gai into a space neighboring her current SE Ankeny take-out counter, stuffing in 38 seats for the first legit Khao Man Gai sit-down restaurant. (The storefront currently offers limited seating, which is often at a premium.)

Per Eat Beat, the new, counter-service space will offer Nong's entire menu — which also includes Khao Kha Muu (pork and rice) and chicken and rice topped with peanut sauce — plus a selection of beer (now available alongside Nong's for the first time). An ice cream menu is also in the works. Projected opening: early April. More as it becomes available.
