On this week's event-planning EaterWire:
N. WILLIAMS/PEARL DISTRICT— The oyster-filled sister restaurants EaT: An Oyster Bar and the Parish will celebrate Mardi Gras with a half-dozen live bands (three at each location), drink specials, and free limo rides between the two restaurants. The Pearl District's Parish, whips out a whole pig roast, while EaT promises beads, beer, and oysters. More information here.
NORTHEAST— With "a New Orleans bistro" in its name, Acadia obviously throws down during Fat Tuesday, with chef/owner Adam Higgs offering a four-course Mardi Gras meal tonight, March 4. The prix fixe features dishes like crab cakes "Rex" with poached egg; crawfish remoulade; and of course King cake for dessert (find the lucky baby in your piece and win a $50 gift card). Reservations are suggested; more information here.
NORTHEAST— Ned Ludd chef Jason French will fire up a four-course menu designed for Italian wine during a "Italian Wine Trio" dinner on Tuesday, March 11. Three winemakers — from Garofoli, Messeria Li Veli, and Tuscany's Poliziano — will be on-hand throughout the evening to speak about their wines, paired with dishes like Ned Ludd's pork noodles, quail breast spiedino, and lamb leg with polenta. Reservations are $85 and available here.
NORTHEAST— Oswaldo Bibiano's micro-Ocean restaurant Uno Mas will team with nearby Pairings Portland on Sunday, March 9 for a taco-wine mashup. The event, which launches a recurring dinner series at the wine shop, offers a menu of five different tacos (plus chips and guacamole) paired with a half-dozen wines. Reservations are $30 and available by calling 541-531-7653.
