Chef Joshua McFadden — of SE Division's sister restaurants Ava Gene's and Roman Candle Baking Co. — has landed a cookbook deal with Artisan Books. Eat Beat reports McFadden will team with award-winning cookbook author Martha Holmberg for an as-yet-titled book focusing (unsurprisingly) on vegetables: The 200-recipe book aims to provide a "go-to resource for modern vegetable cooking, broad and deep but accessible."
McFadden's vegetable dishes at Ava Gene's have earned much acclaim, particularly from Bon Appetit, which singled out the veggies when placing the restaurant on its Best New Restaurant of 2013 list. Holmberg, meanwhile, is the author of the Beard-nominated Modern Sauces; she's also working with Clyde Common's Jeffrey Morgenthaler on his upcoming cocktail book, The Bar Book. The McFadden/Holmberg collaboration probably won't hit shelves until spring 2016; more as it becomes available.
