On this week's event-planning EaterWire:
CONCORDIA— Chef Kat LeSueur joins forces with Carlton, Oregon's Andrew Rich Wines for a six-course pairing dinner at Cocotte on Wednesday, April 9. LeSueur will serve up courses like a foie gras chawanmushi (with caramelized foie), a smoked rabbit saddle with roasted black plum and cauliflower puree, and a mushroom risotto with black truffle. Reservations are $75, including all wine pairings, and are available by calling the restaurant at 503-227-2669.
NORTHEAST— A half-dozen self-proclaimed "Oregon RumRunners" will invade Blair Reynolds's tiki bar Hale Pele for a rum-and-food pairing dinner on Wednesday, April 9. Big Bottom Whiskey, Bull Run Distilling Company, Eastside Distilling, Glaser Distillery, and Indio Spirits will join forces to serve five "half-sized" cocktails, served alongside items from Hale Pele's usual Polynesian-inspired menu. Reservations are $75 and include food, drink, and a ticket to the upcoming TOAST Artisan Spirits Tasting event (which takes place on April 11 and 12). More information and tickets available here.
CENTRAL EASTSIDE INDUSTRIAL— In the next installment of its ongoing guest bartender series, Racion's Chauncey Roach will take over the cocktail menu at Rum Club on Monday, April 7. Roach's theme of choice is a "Dirty South Soiree," featuring cocktails like a sweet potato Bellini (with aged rum, sweet potato purée, maple syrup, cava, lemon, vanilla foam, and candied pecan). The party starts at 9p.m. and goes until close.
PEARL DISTRICT— Cerulean Wine's Pearl District tasting room plays host to a Columbia Gorge "Grand Tasting" event on Friday, April 5, featuring more than 25 wineries from gorge (think everything from Analemma Wines to Wy'East Vineyards). The event is a kick-off celebration for the launch of the 2014 Wine Tasting Passport, and the $25 entry fee gets guests tastes, passed hors d'oeuvres, and an April Passport Month book. More information and tickets here.
