One man — Charles Hartz — provides the ice for Portland's top cocktail bars like Imperial, Multnomah Whiskey Library, and Pepe Le Moko, so the Oregonian checks in to see how Hartz's company PDX Ice has come to make all those clear cubes. Hartz (who got his start as an ice sculptor) keeps two Clinebell Ice Carving Machines in his Beaverton garage, which can churn out 1,200 pounds of ice in three days. [OregonLive]
