Inside the Revamped Widmer Bros. Pub, Opening Thurs.

[Avila, 4/1/14]

As promised, the Widmer Brothers Brewery celebrates its 30th anniversary this week with a complete re-vamp of the onetime Widmer Gasthaus: The newly christened Widmer Brothers Pub celebrates its re-opening tomorrow, April 3, flaunting a newly open space that sees no distinction between the pub and the restaurant's dining room. The actual number of seats (126) and Widmer's food menu remain the same, but the revamp sees the addition of nine taps at the bar, all dedicated to special-edition and limited-release beers.

First up: three beers from Widmer's anniversary "30 Beers for 30 Years" series, including an Altbier, Weizenbier, and Hefeweizen that use the "original specifications" from their original brewing back in the mid-'80s. The brewery will also unveil a Blacklight IPA collaboration with Boneyard Beer, the first in an ongoing collaborative series with Oregon breweries.
