On last week's episode of Portlandia, Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein's characters wander into a restaurant that's been bestowed with a "Best Thai Food in Portland" sticker from Bridgetown Weekly, one of the city's alt-alt-weeklies. After a terrible meal with a "really sweet" curry and noodles with "just one little shrimp," they head to the newspaper and discover a conspiracy is underfoot: "This magazine is designed just so they can write reviews of themselves."
