NW/ALPHABET DISTRICT— The NW 23rd Avenue location of Sarah Curtis-Fawley's Pacific Pie Co. will toast all things boozy during April's newly christened "Spirited Pie Month." Each Friday for the next week, the pie shop will host a free tasting by a different local distillery (from Bull Run to House Spirits to Clear Creek), paired with a rotating boozy pie special. (Flavors include a "Drunken ginger pear" with New Deal's ginger liquor, and a black currant cream pie with cassis liqueur.) More information here. [EaterWire]
WEST END— More good news for those with a sweet tooth: The recurring dessert pop-up Flight Dessert Bar will take over Ración this Sunday, April 6 for a six-course meal. The theme focuses on herbs, which play out in dishes like a cara cara orange sorbet with Thai chili and fennel, and a chocolate mousse with mint, milk sorbet, and toasted meringue. Reservations are $41 (including drink pairings); tickets and more information here. [EaterWire]
DOWNTOWN— Chef Michael Stanton will investigate a new region of France each quarter of 2014, and next up on his Heathman Restaurant menu is Lyon. The Heathman's six-course Lyonnaise menu is available now through the end of June, offering dishes like sweetbreads with candied beets and spring garlic; braised beef cheek with parsnip puree; and a dessert of grilled apricot and camembert panna cotta. Reservations are $90 including wine pairings (or $60 without); more information here. [EaterWire]
